Historical Democratic Debate - Hilary Clinton vs. Barak Obama

Prasun came from school saying his social studies teacher has asked them to watch the two hour debate - that was his homework. Of course, he did not like it. A 13-year old does not care about politics, and less so to watch two politicians quibble over something that they don't care about. Their attention span is limited. He'd rather be playing Runescape! In any case, he faithfully watched it.

He made some interesting observations as we engaged in a dialog during the debate. Even before the debate started, he said, '... they don't keep most of the promises anyway, so why does it matter?' The fact is, I realized he has an extremely high 'BS' meter! He could see through what was BS, what was genuine; I was surprisingly pleased with it.

In fact, this is one reason why Obama and McCain are able to connect with young people - they seem sincere.

I asked him who was better. His response was surprisingly mature.

'It depends on issues. Hilary seems better on Healthcare, but Barak seems better on Homeland security'.

Overall, he liked Barak Obama.
